Their stories
I’m Nicolas, 37, and I’ve been with Magnes for 6 years. I joined in 2016 as transport coordinator and since 2020 I’ve been in charge of the Rodez branch.
My job involves leading and managing my team of 3 transport coordinators. I support my colleagues on the operational side. My aim is to develop the agency by looking to expand the customer portfolio.
To be a good transport coordinator, you need to be commercially minded and have an appetite for business. You need to be available and responsive to your customers and suppliers. It’s important to show perseverance and self-sacrifice, we’re motivated and we don’t give up.
A typical day starts with checking and monitoring shipments, and passing on all the information to the customer. We then switch to fulfilling customer orders on D, D+1 and D+2. We get a lot of requests for additional orders, so we have to be reactive and available to deal with any changes that may arise depending on our customers’ needs.
I really like the fact that no two days are ever the same. There are always unforeseen circumstances and we always have to deal with them and find last-minute solutions. I like the fact that I’m always on the alert, which demands flexibility and responsiveness. Customers have high expectations.
What I’m most proud of is managing peaks in activity: handling large volumes over a short period of time, in multiple geographical areas. he mission is accomplished when customers call on us throughout the year, because we’ve been able to help them during the busiest periods. Customers trust us!
If I had to sum up Magnes in 3 words: trust, rigour, team spirit.
Operation Director
I’m Michael, 33, and I joined Magnes 1 year ago. I’ve been working in transport for 12 years.
My job at Magnes involves organising and meeting our customers’ transport needs to get their goods from point A to point B.
What I like about my job and its daily routine is that you have to be responsive, rigorous and work as part of a team.
My greatest satisfaction comes from finding transport solutions for customers who are experiencing difficulties caused by other carriers. At Magnes, we’re flexible and agile, which is a major advantage over the competition.
What I like about my job is the versatility and the variety of situations in which we carry out transport operations.
A successful day’s work means finishing the day knowing that everything that needs to be delivered has been delivered, everything that needs to be loaded has been loaded. And having met all our customers’ needs.
If I had to sum up Magnes in 3 words: team spirit, people and diversity…

We want to help young people through a proactive policy of training placements. More than just training, joining Magnes gives students the opportunity to achieve their career goals in a growth business combining transport and technology. We have a long-term strategy as our substantial growth means we are looking to hire apprentices on permanent contracts after their training.

Magnes would like to expand all of its services and is therefore investing in making its students fully operational at the end of their training program. My name is Laure, I’m 23 years old, I’m doing a BTS in SME Management with the CCI in Rodez, and I’ve been with Magnes since July 2022. I’m changing careers, I come from the world of agriculture and I’m discovering the world of transport every day.
I’m an administrative assistant, and I look after customer and supplier reminders. On the invoicing side, I’m in charge of entering invoices, monitoring payments and any reminders.
My typical day starts with dealing with emails, then a team meeting to list the tasks to be done. I organise myself according to priorities.
What I like best about my work-study placement is the versatility and the contact with both Magnes’ suppliers and customers.
A day’s work is successful when I manage to do everything I set out to do, despite unforeseen circumstances.
